In addition to being one of my favorite mentors as an Associate Professor at the California College of the Arts, James Kenney is an artist, writer, and filmmaker.
His documentary film, Polack, is a thought provoking and beautifully researched film about the origins of "the Polish joke" in America.
This film begins with a simple question about the origins of Polish jokes, but expands into a philosophical journey about acceptance, rejection, society, and the "myth of home."
