Our latest adventure in "upcycling" is a gorgeous kitchen unit made from the same white oak boards that we used for our Design Harvest booth floors.
When preparing for Design Harvest, we knew that we wanted to minimize the amount of material that could not be reused. We decided to build the floor for our booth from flat-sawn white oak slabs that were cut from a tree with an insect infestation.
The boards took a pretty heavy beating during the show, but we planed them up and they looked fabulous. We decided to turn the stock in to an office kitchenette for one of our clients, and the results are spectacular; even the worm holes look beautiful!
