Strand Design at The Post Family

The Post Family all began when a group of semi-like minded chaps bonded over excessive amounts of time on the computer. Oh, our poor young eyes, so weary. All the time, producing these virtual products that are here today, gone tomorrow. We romanticized about studio arts and began to crave the smell of letterpress ink, springy squeegees and dirty fingernails. Something more tactile. Some physical labor for gosh sakes!

So, in celebration of hand-craft that inspires us to get our hands dirty, we bring you our newest exhibition entitled Manual Labor. This Spring showcase focuses on the renewed interest in skill trades in our modern marketplace and is a celebration of what a little elbow grease can really do. Featured in the show will be the sign painting of Jeff Canham (who also did the lovely show graphic), the furniture making of Strand, the re-manufactured wood type of printmaker Don Kilpatrick, small batch brewing by Eric Olson and Maria's Packaged Goods & Community Bar, the axe-men Best Made Co and steel bikes by Method.

Manual Labor opens May 11, 2012 from 7-10pm at The Post Family Gallery, The Family Room, with the opportunity to view the show by appointment only the 2 weeks following.
